I started my Grad Life blog this year with “Why I Chose to Do My Doctoral Work in Geography” with my comps not far off. The Grad Life blog has been a tool for making life in grad school a bit more bearable through many hurdles, challenges and triumphs, and for that I am grateful.
The ability to publicly reflect and collaborate on issues many grad students face, openly and honestly, has, I hope, been as useful for others as it has been for me.
I believe that maintaining a sense of humour and that writing our way through our challenges (academic or otherwise) are both essential to success in grad school.
Grad Life has brought the attainment of these two things much closer to hand.
For this I thank the organizers, bloggers and readers of Grad Life. Thank you for helping us get through grad school!
This is my last (my 47th) post as a Grad Life blogger. I wish Grad Life and its grad student writers and readers both success and dreams fulfilled.
I look forward to reading Grad Life in the coming years too.
Luke, thank you so much for being a part of the first year of Grad Life! Your posts have been so insightful, honest, though-provoking and funny. It’s been a pleasure reading them. We wish you the best of luck and know that you will be successful in whatever you do!
